SPLIT UNION

Split Union commands attention through its striking duality and carefully balanced form. At its core, a figure-eight shape unfolds vertically—an emblem of infinity and continuity—yet it is deliberately divided, separated into two contrasting halves. One side gleams with a sleek, brushed silver surface that invites quiet reflection, while the other confronts the viewer with a coarse, black texture, raw and tactile. This division is not merely visual but conceptual, embodying the notion that opposing realities can coexist without contradiction.

Encircling this central motif are fluid arcs and bands that weave rhythmically around the split form. Their alternating textures—ranging from deep black with palpable weight to a marbled pattern that blends shadow and light—heighten the tension between unity and separation. The sculpture’s interplay of smoothness and roughness, solidity and movement, cultivates an enigmatic presence that draws the eye into a contemplative dialogue.
